Apple Watch Digital Crown and side button repair

A crown that won't turn or click, or a side button that does nothing, makes the watch hard to use every day. Sometimes it's dirt and sweat; sometimes the part itself has failed.

Common button problems

  • Digital Crown feels gritty, stiff, or doesn't scroll.
  • Pressing the crown doesn't go home.
  • Side button is stuck in, or doesn't click at all.
  • The button works only some of the time.

We check first whether a clean is enough. If the button part or its flex cable has failed, we replace it.

Warranty

Digital Crown repair carries 180 days warranty. For the side button, the 180-day warranty covers the button flex cable; the physical button piece is a wear part and isn't covered.

Once a watch has been opened, its water resistance is not guaranteed — even when the seal is replaced. Keep it away from swimming and showers after a repair.
