Signs the battery is worn out
- The watch needs a second charge before the day is over.
- It shuts down while still showing charge left.
- Low Power Mode comes on far earlier than it used to.
- Battery Health (Settings → Battery → Battery Health on the watch) says the battery is significantly reduced.
- The screen has started to lift away from the case.
If the screen is lifting, the battery underneath may be swelling. Stop charging the watch and bring it in — don't press the screen back down.
Battery options

Battery warranty is 90 or 180 days depending on the option, and covers manufacturing defects such as swelling or abnormally fast drain.
What happens during the repair
The display has to come off to reach the battery, so the technician checks the screen, the Digital Crown and the side button before opening, and tells you about anything already wrong.
After the new battery is in, we test charging, touch and the buttons together with you.
Once a watch has been opened, its water resistance is not guaranteed — even when the seal is replaced. Keep it away from swimming and showers after a repair.
