iPad won't turn on

A dead iPad isn't always a dead board. A completely flat battery, a faulty charging port, or a cable can all look the same from the outside.

Which iPads come in for this

44 of these repairs in our system in the last 90 days, by model.

  • iPad20
  • iPad Air11
  • iPad Pro11
  • iPad mini2

Try this first

  1. Charge with a cable and adapter you know work, and leave it for a while.
  2. Force restart. On iPads with a Home button: hold the Home and top buttons together until the Apple logo appears. On iPads without one: press volume up, press volume down, then hold the top button.
  3. Connect to a computer and see whether it's recognised.

Board repair

If none of that works, the technician checks battery and charging first, then the board. Board repair means fixing the fault on the existing board — we explain what we found and what it would take before any work starts.

Board repair carries 180 days warranty for the same board fault.

If the iPad got wet, switch it off and don't charge it. Bring it in as soon as you can.

Tell us the model and what happened.

Prices depend on the model and the part, so we don't list them here. A WhatsApp message gets you the exact quote — free, and you decide before any work starts.
