iPad battery replacement

Battery is the most common iPad repair we do, by a long way. Most iPads that come in are still perfectly good otherwise — they just can't hold a charge any more.

Signs the battery is worn out

  • The percentage drops quickly, or jumps from 30% straight to off.
  • The iPad only works while plugged in.
  • Charging takes much longer than it used to, or stops before 100%.
  • The screen is bulging or the case has started to open at the edge.
A bulging screen or a gap at the edge can mean a swollen battery. Stop charging and bring it in — don't press on it.

Battery options

Battery options depend on the model — we confirm which ones are available for your iPad on WhatsApp.

Battery warranty is 90 or 180 days depending on the option, and covers manufacturing defects such as swelling or abnormally fast drain.

What happens during the repair

The iPad battery sits under the screen, so the screen has to come off first. Before opening, the technician checks the screen, touch, buttons and charging port with you and points out anything already wrong.

Back up before the repair if you can. A battery job doesn't normally touch your data, but a backup is always the safe move.
